New music???

My-ipod MP3 player is getting kind of stale... Any one have any good suggestions for not-necessarily top 40 music thats good? As long as its not teen-pop, Celine Dion, pop-country (blue-grass is good), or death metal, ... seriously need something different to get stuck in my head (for the record, Kung-Fu fighting for the last two days)...

Metal & Rock (Excluding Death Metal): Kamelot, Nightwish, Guns & Roses, ACDC, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Nirvana, Helloween, Iron Maiden, Kiss, Led Zeppelin, Manowar, Metallica, Poison, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius.

Electronic Music: Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Mauro Picotto, Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox, David Guetta.

Throw Boys Noize and Deadmau5 into that electronic section above.

Also The xx, Pavement, White Denim, Sonic Youth, M83, Fleet Foxes, Broken Social Scene, Arcade Fire, The Mountain Goats, Kasabian.

Too lazy to categorize but they are all good.

Lets see what I can suggest from my mp3... I enjoy soundtracks: Cowboy Bebop, Kill Bill, Resevoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction adn Samurai Champloo. If you like electronic and metal you can try Hadouken!. You said no cowntry but Cowboy Junkies is awesome! Trinity Sessions is perfect on those sad days (and even better with some distilled drink), You can try also Buena Vista Social Club, as crono aways says: good stuff. I don't know your music style but I hope you enjoy some of them

Hey Farm, since apparently you're 99, you're music would be from 1920's.... I think your right, I'lll pass. I need to get at least to the 50's Miles Davis (post Birth of the Cool, pre-acid driven fusion) before I'm interested...

No that was when i was a teen. I was born in 1910. but they are vary similar music.

I very much agree with adrG's choices. I like that same type of music too (except I completely hate Manowar. I don't really want to go into detail why).

Also in the metal genre, I'd recommend Dragonland, Dreamtale, Nocturnal Rites, Rhapsody of Fire, and Symphony X.
